At the age of 5 Mayte's baby brother was born in La Cuidad de Mexico (EI DF) where due to the lack of support and care Mayte's mother developed Postpartum Depression. This resulted in her taking Mayte and her baby brother to be raised by her Maternal Abuelita, where Mayte began would begin her journey into self Lukut.
At the tender age of 6 Mayte was moved into her Paternal Abuelita home, where she began learning to work on others more in depth.
At 7 Mayte migrated to Illinois where she raised by Community Parents who helped mold the woman and mother she is today and now utilizes the same method for parenting.
Mayte was given the blessing to work on others at the young age of 15 and shortly after moved to Texas where she met her Husband and set roots down.
In 2013 after the birth of her first son Mayte was gifted a Doula by her Midwives this would completely change her tragectory by inspiring her to intertwine her traditional knowledge into a Doula practice. In 2015 she became and birth and bereavement Doula.
In 2017 Mayte did the unthinkable and began caring for outsiders which resulted in being excommunicated from her Community for over a year. Mayte saw the amount of folks who needed compassionate whole-body holistic care and she sacrificed the thing most dearest to her heart, her community.
Since Mayte has helped over 1,500 babies come earth-side and hundreds of people reach optimal health through Traditional Totonaca care. She loves to travel to teach and care for folks all over the US.
Mayte is a loving mother of four and a caring wife who is very family oriented. When she is not busy homeschooling and traveling, she dedicates her time to educating folks by creating a bridge between Abuelita Knowledge and modern science.
